耳鼻咽喉科領域におけるα-chymotrypsinの使用経験例

　最近の酵素化学の発達は目ざましいものがありとくに治療面における酵素の応用は，これまでのDiastaseやPancreatinなどの消化補助剤とかTrypsinの蛋白分解作用を応用した局所療法に限られていたが，α-chymotrypsinの出現によりその治療分野も急速に拡大を示しつつあるという。α-chymotrypsinの特長は強力かつ速効的な抗炎症作用がありながらステロイド剤のような副作用もなく，しかも筋注による全身療法を行いうる点にある^1）。

　α-chymotrypsinの適応は各方面に及びすでに欧米では莫大な臨床実験が報告されており，この酵素療法は今や広く流行に達しようとしているという。

Favorable results have been obtained by use of a-chrymotrypsin in treatment of acute and chronic sinusitis, acute pharyngitis, laryngeal edema, lung necrosis, acute otitis media and in postoperative conditions. Its anti-inflammatory and anti-edematous prope-rties were commendable when use in combination with other antibiotic drugs. No side effects were noted in the use of this drug.
