上顎線維腫症例

　I．まえがき

　上顎腫瘍と見做されているもののうちには，上顎洞以外から発生する腫瘍も少くない。上顎洞の良性腫瘍は極めて稀とされ，特に線維腫の発生母地については不明な点が多い。著者は最近上顎骨の線維腫の一例を経験し，詳細に観察することが出来たので報告する。

The patient was a 44 year old woman who chiefly complained of swelling of the right cheek. Since about one month before she suffered toothache and for this reason the first upper right molar was extracted.The tumor was then discovered by the dentist.

Operation revealed a maxillary tumor ovo-id, firm and well circumscribed in its consis-tency and shape involving the major portion of the maxillary bone;the maxillary sinus appeared to be compressed and reduced to a small shallow cavity beneath the orbit.

The tumor was found to be a fibroma and the radix of the molar tooth was suspected as its probable origin.
