Polarographyによる耳鼻咽喉科惡性腫瘍の診断

Ⅰ．緒言

　Polarographynとは1924年Heyrovsky-志方によつて，始めて考案されたもので，その原理は滴下水銀電極を陰極とし，広い水銀面を陽極として微小電極界面における電極反応を電解電流，電圧曲線から考察する研究法であり，之を自記的にPolarogrammとして測定する方法である。（第1図）

　従来悪性腫瘍殊に癌に関しては生物学的，血清学的，化学的，或は物理化学的見地から広範多岐にわたる研究が行われているが，今日なお適確な早期診断的価値を有する方法を見出すに至つていない。

　Watanabe and associates maintain that, from their experience in 30 cases, the use of polarography for diagnosis of malignancy in the field of otolaryngology is an useful adjunct whose accuracy is about 86%. The actual state of the patient in the course of malignant involvement and the picture produced by means of polarography appear to go hand in hand; a reliable prognosis of the disease may be made by the latter means. However, it is of no value in making a differential diagnosis of carcinoma against that of sarcoma.
