最近の突発性難聴（Sudden deafness）に就いて

　Ⅰ．緒言

　原因不明の難聴の中に突発的に発来し，しかも神経難聴と考えられるものに対し，Kobrakは1822年内耳出血を疑うべきであり，その際出血性素因は必ずしも認められなくてもよいと述べている。其の後多数の文献があるが，其の主なものはDe Kleyn（1944）Hallsberg ＆ Hortou，（1947），Rasmussen，（1949），Lindsay ＆ Zwidema（1950），Fowler，（1950），Lehmann（1954）等が夫々検討を加えている。本邦でも之に関する最近のものでは早瀨（1951），堀口（1953），田口（1953），大川内（1954），立木（1955），佐藤・吉田（1957）等の報告がある。私共も最近数例を経験し其の治療法に対しても困難を感じているものである。

　本症は，（1）突発性の難聴，（2）原因不明，（3）高度の神経難聴を主な条件としているが，倒々の症例を見ると夫々其の特徴があり一定の型にはめることは困難と考えられているが，茲には其の主なる症例を挙げて参考に供する次第である。

　Nagayama and associates report 6 cases of deafness with sudden onset of unkown etiology. Chondroitin sulfate was employed in treatment of these cases with favorable results in some. The authors recommend the use of this agent on such cases even though immediate results may not be forthcoming; they believe that recovery of the condition to be largely dependent upon the amount of hemorrhage that may have occurred in the internal ear.
