航空時耳症状及びその治療に就て—某自衞隊航空隊員に於ける検査及び治療成績を中心として

　戦後，我国に於ては航空機が使用されることは暫くなかつたが，民間旅客航空路の再開並びに戦前に勝るその利用率及び自衛隊航空隊の設立により之と平行して航空医学の研究も盛んとなりつつある。我が耳鼻咽喉科学も航空医学上占むる位置は決して小さなものではない。

　最近民間旅客機に於けるPilotスチユワーデス旅客等の航空時耳症状及航空中耳炎については高橋教授等によつて詳細に論じられている所である。我々は民間機に比し上昇速度下降速度大なる軍用機を使用する某海上自衛隊航空隊の航空機搭乗者につき耳鼻咽喉科的検査を施行すると共に航空時耳症状について調査する機会を得たのでその治療成績と共に報告し御批判を得たいと思う。

Kubo and associates made a survey of ear affections in connection to flights among 233 members of flight personnel of National Defence Air-Corp. Among this number 33 individuals (14.1%) were found with ear troubles that required immediate medical attention. In majority of cases such troubles appear to be the result of obstructions invol-ving the auditory tube. Consequently the treatment as well as prevention of such a condition must be directed towards elimina-tion of underlying cause which may be listed as follows:

1) Inflammation of upper respiratory tract: 2) Lymphatic tissue hypertrophy of the naso-pharyngeal mucous membrane; 3) Obstruc-tions of nasal passage by presence of sinusitis, deviated nasal septum or hypertrophic tur-binals.
