牙関緊急を主訴とせる所謂多発性進行性化骨性筋炎の1例

　Ⅰ．緒言

　所謂多発性進行性化骨性筋炎は比較的珍らしい疾患で1740年I．Frekeが最初の1例を報告して以来，その特有な臨床的所見は諸学者により注意せられ，次々と発表を見るに到つた。我が国においては1913年後藤七郎教授が始めて精細な臨床的並びに組織学的研究を行い，その後逐次症例は追加せられて来たが，未だ17例の報告を見るに過ぎない。

　私達はこの度当科外来を訪れた牙関緊急を主訴とする本症患者に遭遇し，臨床的検査を行つたので茲に報告し，1例を追加するものである。

FUJIMORI and associates report a case of myositis ossificans of the hyoglossus muscle in which the chief complaint made by the patient, a man aged 26, was the symptom of lockjaw. In spite of the fact that the diag-nosis of this disease may be made with relative 'ease, lacking a specific treatment, the prognosis becomes necessarily not too en-couraging. But, fortunately the disease is a rare occurrence and likewise the reports on such affection are exceedingly few in number.
