聾唖者多発部落調査成績

　第Ⅰ章　緒言

　現在山村避地，孤島等に於て血族結婚が普通以上に多く行れて居る事は，交通の不便，限られた耕地，昔からの一族の自恃，其の他各種の事情の下に屡々見出され，且つ人類学其の他色々と研究の対象とせられて来た。而し乍ら其の血族結婚の多い部落内に先天性聾唖の多発した例は極めて少く，且つ其の調査報告も坂田（1949），新井（1951）等の外殆んど見られず，適々私は血族結婚に先天性聾唖の多発した一部落を調査する機会に恵まれ，是に其の成績を発表し，聾唖研究の一資料に追加したいと考える。

　Matsuyama conducts a survey of deaf-mutism which is highly prevalent in a certain district of this country namely, in the southern part of Ikai Gun of Miyagi Prefecture. Here it is found that marriages among blood-relatives are practiced as common occurrence. It is also revealed in this survey that deaf-mutism occur only among those families that were subjected to inter-marriages. The author gives a thorough discussion on this subject of deaf-mutism and inter-marriage with a full review of literature.
