WATANABE and associates investigate the actions of 'Travelmine', the tablet form of which embodying Benardryl-Hydrochloride and 8-Chlorotheophyllin and, soluble form for injections, Benardrylhydrochloride and Hydroxypropyltheophyllin, on the vestibule and semicircular canals. Their conclusions are as follows: (1) The use of the agent when the ear was weakly stimulated with instillation of 2 cc of water at 10 degrees centigrade definitely prolonged the latent period in which the nystagmus was manifested and lengthened the time the nystagmus maintained.
(2) The agent was capable of allayng Joss of equilibrium which was inckccd in a rabbit by injection of 5 percent solution of cocaine hydrochloride in the middle ear cavity.
(3)It was also competent in alleviating symptoms of vestibular vertigo which is manifested with spontaneous nystagmus but it did not act as a preventive towards recurrence of those symptoms.
