YAMAWAKI report a case in whom the ulceration of the oral cavity and the lower lip is believed to be esthiomene. Because of the difficulty of determining the etiology of the lesion various laboratory tests were performed such as, Wasserman, Murata, Frei, formalin gel, blood sedimentation, erythrocyte count, hemoglobin determination, leucocyte count and classisification, examination of exudate and biopsy. The author concludes that this ulcer is similar to one that which makes its appearance on the vulva characterized with chronicity and probably due to lymphogranuloma venereum.
