ストレプトマイシン使用患者に於ける聽器檢査の成績

　緒言

　1948年Waksman及びその協同研究者等に依つて，ストレプトマイシン（以下スと略記する．）が発見されて以來，吾々は6年後に於て，漸くにして少数例ではあるが，使用経驗の機会を得られる樣になつた．その間，アメリカに於ては現在迄既に幾多の実驗的研究と，多数の臨床的使用例を報告して居る．然しながら現在尚，その適應に於て，或は投與方法に於て，解明すベき幾多の問題無しとしない．而して特に結核症に使用する場合の如く，長期に亘り大量に使用を必要とするならば，我々は多数例に於て，副作用に逢着するのである．從來注目されたる副作用の裡，最も出現率が高く，而も最も患者を悩ますのが，第八対腦神経に対するものである事は今此処に贅言を要するまでもない．私は本年二月以降東北大学大里内科に入院せる患者中，厚生省指示に依り，ス1日1瓦（1日2回分注）総量40瓦筋注し，系統的に前庭機能及び聽力の臨床的檢査を実施せる17症例に就いてその結果を報告し御批判を仰ぐ次第である．

Shimada investigated the effects of streptomy-cin in 17 patients, to each of whom were given the total dose of 40 grams in the daily dose of 1 gram, by testing their hearing and vestibular functions. Relation of vestibular funcfion and vertigo is discussed. Regarding vestibular func-tions, patients were observed for a certain peri-od before and for one month following the ad-ministration of streptemycin. Vertigo appeared in 6 cases and loss of hearing in 1 case.
