Hesaka examines the larynx of three patients, in post-mortem examination and with a view to study the effects which streptomycin therapy might have established on this organ during the life of the patients. These patients were affected with laryngeal tuberculosis as well as tuberculosis elsewhere and for which streptomycin therapy was employed but, in the midst of such therapy and in spite of it, they were overcome by the worsening condition of the disease and died.

Histo-pathological study of laryngeal tissues revealed that, in one case, the lesion was well in the process of healing and if, the patient had lived long enough it would have been cured; in the second case, the progress of cartilagenous necrosis appeared to be so far advanced that he would not have had the chance to live anyway; and, in the third case, the condition appeared to be about the midway between the two.
