  • Abstract
  • Look Inside

Intention tremor can be seen in the cases of extrapyramidal and cerebellar diseases such as multiple sclerosis, spinocerebellar degeneration, Wilson's disease, Benedict's syndrome, heredofamilial tremor and posttraumatic sequelae. One of the predominant characteristics of this tremor is the so-called "tremor in action". The patient has little or no tremor at rest, but shows violent, uncontrollable tremor during voluntary movement of the hands. A series of 6 cases of intention tremor were experienced in our service during the last 5 years. Two cases were heredofamilial, two cases posttraumatic, and another 2 cases unknown.
