Intracranial Hypoglossal Neurinoma

I．はじめに

　頭蓋内舌下神経鞘腫は稀で，文献上時折り散見されるに過ぎない．最初の報告は1933年de Martelら^3）によるものであるが，1969年までには10症例^16），現在までおよそ21例を数える．

　本腫瘍は長期にわたる半側舌麻痺およひ萎縮が特徴的であるが，これのみでは医師を訪れる人は少なく，多くは頭蓋内圧亢進や周辺脳幹部の圧迫症状が出現してから来院するため，発見が遅れ，予後が不良となることが多い．それゆえ患者の救命や脱落症状を少しでも少なくするためには早期発見が何より大切である．

Intracranial hypoglossal neurinoma has been rarely observed and occasionally discussed in the literature concerned. Since de Martel et al had firstly reported in 1933, the 10th case was reported by Ignelzi and Bucy in 1967, including the past 9 cases discussed.

A functional disturbance may seldom occur only due to one sided paralysis and/or atrophy of the tongue, thus this kind of patient may often attend a hospital after intracranial hypertension or compressive symptoms in the surrounding brain stem had appeared. This may he attributable to the retarded discovery and unfavorable prognosis.
