Creutzfeldt-Jakob病の概念の歴史的変遷

A historical review of the concept of Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease.

I．はじめに

　1986年の初頭に，American Neurological AssociationのHealth Care Issues委員会が，Creutzfeldt-Jakob病（以下C-J病と略す）患者の資料を取り扱うときの一般的注意について発表した。

　その内容は，細部を除けば，約10年前にGajdusekら（1977）がまとめた注意事項と変わっていない。だが今回，注目すべきことは，infectionあるいはvirusの表現が消え，それに代って，transmissible pathogenという表わし方が目立つ点である。

　The original work relating to Creutzfeldt-Jakob's Disease (C-J-D) consisted of six cases. The first case was reported in 1920 by Creutzfeldt. Five other cases were published by Jakob between 1921-1923.

　Creutzfeldt reported a case of a 22-year-old woman who suffered some neuropsychiatric disorders. The diagnosis remained obscure even after differential diagnosis. Until now, no one has been able to give a definitive diagnosis.
