Abstract

There arc many pharmacological agents that affect to pupillary movement. The muscles of the iris are innervated by the autonomic nervous system, the sympathetic and parasympathetic. These neural impulses to the iris muscles can be modified by drugs at the synapses and at the effector sites. We summarized these drugs as following; I) the autonomic drugs, which have the miotic, mydriatic and cycloplegic actions, are devided into four, that is, sympathomimetic, para-symphatholytic, parasympathomimetic, and sym-patholytic actions.
