大脳基底核と随意運動

Role of the basal ganglia in motor control

はじめに

　運動の開始，遂行，巧緻性などに関して，近年，小脳と大脳基底核の重要性がとくに大きな問題としてクローズアップされてきている。小脳に関しては，1960年前後に，それまでの古典的な研究が集大成され^7），その後，1964年前後からの数年間に神経回路網が整備され，1970年前後より小脳の機能に関する仮説が相ついで提出された。現在，その仮説の中で，とくに小脳の持つ可塑性に関するものの実証に研究の主流が行っているかに思われる。この点に関しては，わが国の伊藤正男氏による著書を参照願いたい。

　有名なAllenとTsukahara^1）の運動に関するシェーマは，今日まで大きな修正を要さないで，現在でも方々で引用されている。彼らによると，運動のideaがまず生じ，それは，小脳と大脳基底核を介して，最終的な運動の遂行に到るわけである。このさい重要なことは，小脳と大脳基底核がパラレルになっている点である。筆者は何とか直列にするような試みを行なってみたことが何度かあるが，現在でもやはりパラレルでよいのではないかと考えている。

Abstract

Concerning about the neuronal circuitary and transmitter works of the basal ganglia, the follow-ing seven conclusions were made by the experi-ments I was involved.

1) There exists a powerful inhibitory caudato-nigral as well as caudato-pallidal pathway. The transmitter is GABA.

2) The caudato-nigral pathway also includes excitatory substance P mediating fiber.

3) The putamino-nigral pathway is also GABA-ergic and inhibitory.

4) The pallido-thalamic output pathway is also inhibitory and GABAergic.

5) The nigro-thalamic output pathway is inhi-bitory and GABAergic.
