Hirano body like crystalline structure in the Ammon's horn induced by chronic administration of 6-hydroxydopamine

Ⅰ．はじめに

　Parkinson病を特徴づける病理変化の一つにLewy bodyがある。われわれはその分布について検討し，それが神経系のmonoamine neuronの分布にきわめてよく類似していることを報告した^15）。

　他方，Lewy bodyは，中枢神経系におけるいわゆる老人性変化の一つとして"正常"老人脳においてもより少数ながら出現する。Forno^6）は，incidentalにLewy bodyの見られた老人脳50例を検索し，その分布がParkinson病の場合のそれに類似することを記載した。またRobinsonら^19）は，55例の剖検脳を生化学的に検索し，加齢とともにmonoamine oxidaseの活性が上昇しnoradrenalineが低下することを明らかにしている。

　Marked morphological changes are induced in the Ammon's horn of the monkies after chronic and repeated administration of 6-hydroxydopamine into the cerebrospinal fluid.

　These changes are developed predominantly in the apical dendrites of the pyramidal cells of the Ammon's horn, and composed of disruption of dendritic microtubules, proliferation of 100 Å neurofilaments and formation of crystalline structure closely similar to the Hirano body.

　Possible mechanism of development of these changes are discussed.
