Steroid myopathy: Biochemical investigation of the pathogenesis

I．はじめに

　副腎皮質ステロイド・ホルモンと同様な作用を有する合成ステロイドは現在広く医療で用いられている。これにはグルココルチコイドによる抗炎症，抗免疫作用などを治療に導入したものがある。疾患によってはこの治療が最も重要な治療法であることも少なくない。しかしグルココルチコイドの副作用で重大な医原病を起こすことはまれではない。この医原病の一つとしてステロイド・ミオパチーがある。

Steroid myopathy is one of the most undesirable side effect of glucocorticoids which are widely used in clinical practice nowadays. This myopathy has three distinct chracteristics; 1) most early and the strongest muscular weakness and atrophy are usually in the proximal muscles of the lower limbs, 2) histochemical analysis of the affected muscle shows a preferential Type Ⅱ fiber atrophy, 3) normal CPK activity in serum.
