Antibiotics and Myasthenia Gravis

　抗生物質のある種のものにneuromuscular transmission（NMT）を阻害する作用があることはただいまの演者が指摘されたごとく1956年neomycinについて報告されて以後多くの報告がある。

　これらの抗生剤は正常者においてもある条件下，たとえば麻酔中や筋弛緩剤投与中などに大量に投与すると，四肢麻痺，呼吸麻痺を呈し，時に死亡することもあり，NMTの障害を伴う重症筋無力症では当然著しい影響が予測され，治療上重大な配慮が要求されている。

　I agree with the opinion that some antibiotics should be carefully used to the myasthenics.

　Although many antibiotics, including streptomycin, kanamycin, colimycin and polymyxin were given to the myasthenics in our clinic during the past 5 years, the severe neuromuscular blocking effect was observed only in one patient, who received hostacycline to prevent pulmonary infection.
