  • Abstract
  • Look Inside

To understand the pathogenetic mechanisms underlying polyglutamine diseases, we have to consider the several characteristic features of these diseases ; 1) the length dependence, 2) time dependence and 3) threshold length of the polyglutamine stretches for the development of the diseases. On the other hand, the potential for aggregate formation of the expanded polyglutamine stretches is strongly influenced not only in a length-dependent manner with the threshold but also in time-and concentration-dependent manners.
