筋萎縮性側索硬化症におけるシナプスの変化

Changes of synapses in amyotrophic lateral sclerosis

はじめに

　従来，筋萎縮性側索硬化症（ALS）の脊髄前角における病理学的検討は前角細胞の細胞構築の変化に関する研究が主であったが，最近シナプスの変化に関する報告がなされるようになった。それは主に前シナプスのシナプス小胞の膜蛋白に対する抗体である抗synaptophysin抗体（抗SP抗体）を用いての研究と電顕による観察である。運動ニューロン系の機能にはシナプスの関与が大きく，シナプスの病的変化は運動機能に多大な影響を及ぼしていると思われる。したがって，ALSにおけるシナプスの変化を検索することは，ALSにおけるsynaptologyの解明のみでなく運動ニューロンの機能的側面からも重要な課題である。

The attention of neuropathology has focused recently on synaptic alterations of the anterior horn neurons of patients with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). The availability of specific antibody to synaptophysin, a synaptic vesicles marker, has facilitated the immunohistochemical demonstration of such alterations.
