　精索捻転術後，思春期に達した17例にGnRH負荷試験を行い，この性腺機能について内分泌学的検討を加えた．血中LH，テストステロン値は基礎値，反応値とも有為な変動を認めず，精巣間質機能は良好に発達していた．一方，血中FSH値は基礎値，反応値とも精巣摘出群でのみ上昇し，正常対照男性と比較しても過剰反応を示していた．このことから精索捻転症で精巣摘出術を受けた患者は，他の精巣処置患者群に比し造精能障害がより強く生じている可能性が示唆された．

Gonadal function in 19 postpubertal patients operated on for testicular torsion was studied by means of gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) test. The patients were divided into three grougs : an orchiectom-ized group (7). a group showing severe testicular atrophy (5) after detrosion was performed, and a group without atrophic testes (7) following detorsion. Serum testosterone and gonadotropin levels in the above three groups were assayed using RIA before and after 100 μg intravenous injection of GnRH. Both basal and response levels of serum testosterone and luteinizing hormone were within the normal range.
