　患者は，25歳，男性。精神的に困窮したため発作的に爆竹を尿道に挿入し爆発させた。尿閉となり近医を受診し，治療目的で当科に紹介され，入院となった。MRIでは尿道構造が消失していた。尿道へのカテーテルの挿入はできなかったため，膀胱瘻を造設した。保存的に治療したところ，排尿障害を残さず自然治癒した。爆竹による尿道損傷の報告はなく，自験例が1例目であった。

A 25-years-old man with urinary retention was hospital-ized because of urethral injury by explosion of a firecrackerwhich had been hysterically inserted into the distal urethraby himself in desperation. MRI revealed the anterior urethrawas devastating. A urethral catheter was unable to beindwelled, therefore suprapubic cystostomy catheter wasplaced. The urethra,however, became recovered withoutstricture after conservative treatment. This is the first casereport of anterior urethral injury by explosion of a fire-cracker.
