  • Look Inside

From April 1985 to September 1986, 27 cases were treated by percutaneous ureterolithotomy (PNL group) and 16 cases by open ureterolithotomy (Lithotomy group). In regard to the operation time, the number of cases without postoperative analgesics, the postoperative hospital stay, and the total cost of admission, there were no significant differences between PNL group and Lithotomy group. The amount of the intraoperative blood loss averaged 774 ml in PNL group, and 92 grams in Lithotomy group (p <0. 01), although no blood transfusion was required in both groups.
