臍からの膿汁分泌を主訴とする17歳の女性に対して，臍から瘻孔造影を行つて尿膜管臍瘻の術前診断で手術を行つた。腹膜外に膀胱頂部を含めて尿膜管を摘除した。病理所見では，内腔は移行上皮ないし円柱上皮で覆われていた。膿汁の培養にて連鎖球菌が多数認められ，umbilical urachal sinusに感染が合併した症例と考えられた。
A 17-year-old girl with chief complaint of discharge from navel was proved by fisterography to have umbilical urachal sinus. Extraperitoneal removal of the urachus with partial cystectomy was accomplished. Histologically, the wall of the specimen was lined by transitional or columnar epithelium. The culture of the pus was reported as Streptococcus. Diagnosis was umbilical urachal sinus with infection.
