若年性前立腺癌の1例

A CASE OF THE PROSTATIC CARCINOMA IN YOUNG ADULT

緒言

　前立腺癌は高齢者に多くみられ，40歳以下の若年者に発生することは稀である。

　われわれは，最近29歳の前立腺癌症例を経験したので，若干の考察を加えて報告する。

A 29-year-old man was admitted with a chief complaint of dysuria. On the rectal examination, the prostate was enlarged to approximately small hen's egg size.

Biopsy specimen of the prostate showed poorly differentiated adenocarcinoma, and subsequent total prostatectomy was performed as surgical treatment.

In spite of antiandrogen therapy after surgery, local recurrence of the tumor appeared progressively. Although cobalt-60 irradiation and chemotherapy produced temporary remission of the disease, following development of pulmonary metastasis his course became progressively down-hill and died after 10 months' hospitalization.
