  • Abstract
  • Look Inside

It seems effective to embolize the tumor supplying arteris directly in the treatment of massive bleeding from malignant tumor. Though a variety of embolic materials have been employed, it remains to be answered which material is the most effective and/or ideal for control of tumor bleeding. Previously we reported that the microencapsulated anticancer drugs infused intraarterially acted as an embolic material as well as a prolonged cytotoxic agents, the therapeutic effects being described as "chemoembolization."
