  • Abstract
  • Look Inside

The clinical benifit of conventional computed tomography (CT) has been well documented. One limitation of this technique to date has been the relative lack of flexibility afforded by the single axial plane of section. The nurmerous planes of section offered, by ultrasonography, for instance, are not generally possible with CT scanning due to limitations in positioning of the patient within the scanner gantry opening. Recently, a computer program was developed which enables CT scans to be recon-structed in both the coronal and sagittal planes.
