　女性で逆行性尿道膀胱撮影を行なうことはその解剖学的構造故にはなはだ困難である。通常は膀胱へ造影剤を注入し，排尿時の尿道走行，形態を観察している。しかし，X線透視を用いない検査では撮影のタイミングが難しく，また排尿不能例ではまつたく尿道に関する情報が得られない。そこでこの空間を埋めるため今回報告する金属鎖を尿道に挿入する方法が工夫された。この方法はすでに26年前Hodgkinson^1,2）により発表されたが，本邦ではあまり用いられていないようである。われわれの検査手技について報告する。

The technique and significance of cystourethrography with a metal chain was reported in the female patient. We place either a platinum bracelet or a ball-chain (a beaded metal chain) in urethra, which clearly demonstrate the relationship between urethra and bladder. It was stressed that this procedure played an important role not only to substantiate and/or confirm the result of urodynamic study but also to recognize the lower urinary tract dysfunction as a whole. The bladder filling with contrast medium is to be done slowly by means of a hydrostatic pressure, especially in such a case as having VUR.
