No one can deny the fact that cystometry is of clinical value and of paramount importance for the assessment of the lower urinary tract dysfunction. When a catheter with a single lumen is used for the conventional slow-filling water cystometry, a superimposition of the hydrostatic pressure, exerted by an irrigator placed above a patient, upon the cystometrogram is inevitable and masks the detrusor response, which often leads to a misinterpretation.
