Transurethral removal of a clinical thermometer as a foreign body in the bladder is difficult, because there is the risk of being broken. Mostly it is removed with suprapubic cystotomy. Based on the fact that a clinical thermometer takes an upright position with its mercury part down in water, the author removed the thermometer very easily in one 41-year-old female case by injecting solution enough to make the thermometer movable in the bladder and picking up the mercury part using Pean's forceps covered with Penrose drain under the direct vision of fluoroscopy. The length of the clinical thermo-meter was 11.3cm, which showed 38.0℃.
