URETERAL STONE EXTRACTION

緒言

　尿管結石の治療法は多様であるが，まず，自然排石を期待した待期療法が必要である。

　しかし，仙痛発作に対する患者の不安，尿路感染症合併の危険性および腎機能障害の進行などを考えると，いつまでも待期しているわけにはいかない。このような場合に，比較的容易に非観血的な方法で問題が解決できる抽石術の重要さが認識される。

Over a six year period from 1970 to 1976, we have attempted to extract lower ureteral stones with a usual Dormia-type basket catheter in 52 patients (57 trials), with a success rate of 38.6% (22 trials).

It seemed that the rate of success was unfavourably affected by the large size of the stones and the presence of severe hydronephrosis.
