緒言

　膀胱腫瘍の大部分は移行上皮癌であるが，扁平上皮癌も全膀胱腫瘍の10％内外を占めており決してまれな疾患ではなく，しかも，移行上皮癌とは臨床所見，経過，予後をはじめ治療方針も異なる部分を持つており，当然，膀胱扁平上皮癌について臨床的観察を行なつた多くの文献があるべきであるが，残念ながら内外とも少ないようである。そこで今回，昭和35年1月から昭和47年4月までの12年4カ月の間に横浜市大泌尿器科に入院した20例の膀胱扁平上皮癌患者につき，移行上皮癌と異なる点に重点をおき臨床統計的観察を行ない臨床上意義あると思われる若干の知見を得たので報告する。

Clinical and statistical observations were made on 20 cases with squamous cell carcinoma of the bladder experienced at the department of Urology, School of Medicine, Yokohama City University during the recent 12 years, and the following results were obtained.

1) The chief complaint was bladder irritation with hematuria and this symptom appeared in the advanced stage of cancer infiltration.

2) Cystoscopic examination revealed solitary, non-papillary and sessile tumor with ulcers and necrocis in most of the cases. Cobble stone appearance was noticed in 44 percent.
