  • Abstract
  • Look Inside

Splint catheter is in common use these days in ureteroplasty. However, use of splint catheter is prefer-ably to be avoided for reason of post-operative urinary tract infection and unfavorable effect on the ureteral wall, healing of anastomosis site of the ureter and consequently on urodynamics.

Satisfactory results were obtained without use of splint catheter in fifteen cases of ureteroplasty by means of temporary proximal urinary diversion through ureterotomy or nephrostomy.
