  • Abstract
  • Look Inside

A 13-year-old girl with this disease was reported. At first, skin manifestations were polymorphic, and showing a striking likeness to those of allergides nodulaires dermiques de Gougerot, theh were composed of erythemas, purpuras, hemorhagic papules, vesicles, pustules and nodules. Later they were mainly composed of persistent, elevated erythemas and nodules.

Histologic pictures in the early stage were those of allergides nodulaires dermiques, which were composed of necrotizing angitis, infiltration of polymorphonuclear leucocytes and leuko-cytoclasis. Those of a typical nodule of this case, decidedly diagnosed as erythema elevatum diutinum in the later stage were fibrosis in the upper dermis as well as the above-mentioned findings. Abnormally high antistreptolysin titer of serum during 4 years' course and several episodes of bacterial infections suggested the possibility that bacteria or their products might play some aggravating factors in this disease.
