鰓性癌と考えられた1症例

A Case Report of Branchiogenic Carcinoma

　はじめに

　鰓性癌は，胎生期の鰓性組織遺残物より癌化すると考えられており，1882年Volkman^1）がBranchiogenes Karzinomと命名し報告したのに始まる。本症の診断にはMartinの診断基準^2）が用いられてきたが，治療前に確定診断を行う決定的な方法はなく，臨床経過や病理組織診から総合的に診断が行われている例が多いようである。

　今回われわれは，鰓性癌と考えられた1症例を経験したので文献的考察を加えて報告する。

　A 80-year-old female complained of a swelling in the left cervical region without other symptoms. Echography and MRI revealed a cystic lesion in her left neck. Lateral cervical cyst was suspected and it was removed surgically.

　Histopathological examination demonstrated invasive well differentiated squamous cell carcinoma arising in the remaining epithelial lining of the cystic lesion.

　A careful examination failed to detect any other primary lesions except for the left neck tumor. The patient has been followed for eight months after surgery under the clinical diagnosis of branchiogenic carcinoma.
