94歳で呼吸困難をきたした巨大正中頸嚢胞の1例

A Large Thyroglossal Duct Cyst induced Dyspnea in A 94-year-old Patient

　はじめに

　正中頸嚢胞は胎生期の甲状舌管の遺残より発生する先天性頸部嚢胞の一種である。主に頸部腫瘤の触知にて発見され，ときに咽喉頭異常感や嚥下時違和感などの臨床症状をきたすこともある^1）。しかし，明らかな呼吸困難をきたした例は極めて稀である。今回われわれは，正中頸嚢胞が原因で呼吸困難をきたし，しかも94歳という高齢であったが手術加療により全快した1例を経験したので，若干の考察を加えて報告する。

In a 94-year-old woman, a large cyst in the pharynx and the larynx made the airway narrow.The cyst was removed with the hyoid bone under general anesthesia. After the operation, the dyspnea has disappeared. Thyroglossal duct cyst rarely induces dyspnea, and it is suggested that a thyrog-lossal duct cyst should be removed actively because the cyst may produce fatal symptoms such as dyspnea if not treated.
