アデノイド切除術が著効した睡眠時呼吸障害の11か月乳児例

Sleep Apnea of an 11-month-old Infant treated with Adenotomy

　はじめに

　近年，成人のみならず，小児においても睡眠時無呼吸症候群の存在が注目され，とくに小児ではその原因としてアデノイドや口蓋扁桃肥大が大きく関与していると考えられる^1,2）。しかし，乳児における睡眠時呼吸障害やこれに対する手術施行例の報告は極めて少ない。

　今回われわれは，アデノイド増殖症により睡眠時無呼吸をきたしたため手術治療を行った，生後11か月の乳児症例を経験したので報告する。

In an 11-month-old infant, sleep apnea lasting for less than 10 seconds was observed frequently where-as apnea index was 1.8 monitored with an apno-monitor. It was suggested that the definition of sleep apnea syndrome proposed by Guilleminault in 1976 was not appropriate to infants. After adenotomy, sleep apnea was completely disappear-ed.

Although reports describing sleep apnea in infants are limited in number, our case suggests that adenotomy or adenotonsillectomy should be carried out positively in children, even in the infants who complain of severe sleep apnea.
