  • Abstract
  • Look Inside

A 62-year-old female developed bilateral vocalcord paralysis due to adhesion of the glottis follow-ing general anesthesia. Laryngoscopy revealed adhesion of the posterior part of the glottis, and the adhesion was incised. Moreover, CO2 laser arytenoidectomy was added 2 weeks later. Postoper-ative result was satisfactory, and the slit of the glottis was left 4mm in width. Retrospectively, the authors thought that the cause of adhesion of the glottis in this case was resulted from mechanical stimulation of tracheal intubation in addition to the underlying vocal cord paralysis.
