Clinical application of an augmented reality（AR）-image guide system for frontal sinus surgeries

はじめに

　近年，拡張現実（augmented reality：AR）技術を用い，術前CT画像をもとに作製したブロックをコンピュータグラフィック（computer graphic：CG）として内視鏡画像上に重ね合わせて表示（重畳表示）できるナビゲーションシステムが開発された。今回，ARナビゲーション（以下，ARナビ）が有用であった前頭洞手術の1例を報告する。

　Due to the proximity to the skull base and orbits and the variety of anatomies, frontal sinusotomy is a challenging procedure during endoscopic sinus surgery（ESS）. Recent image guide systems have augmented reality（AR）functions to superimpose computer graphic（CG）images on actual endoscopic views. Here, we report a case with right frontal sinusitis successfully treated with ESS using the AR-image guide system, with several clinical pearls.
