We report a case of subglottic stenosis caused by intubation with a double-lumen tube(DLT). A 70-year-old woman underwent thoracoscopic surgery for lung cancer. The patient was intubated preoperatively using a 35-Fr DLT, with some resistance noted. Two days later, the patient complained of wheezing and dyspnea. Fiberoptic laryngoscopic examination revealed subglottic stenosis. Emergency video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery was performed under local anesthesia. Fourteen days later, the subglottic stenosis had completely resolved.

In the present case, subglottic stenosis occurred because of mechanical damage caused during endotracheal intubation with DLT. Clinicians should be aware of the risk of subglottic stenosis after extubation.
