乳幼児の扁桃周囲膿瘍の2例

Two Infant Cases of Peritonsillar Abscess

I．はじめに

　扁桃周囲膿瘍は抗生物質が発達，普及する以前には頻繁にみられた疾患であるが，今日では減少している。しかし耳鼻咽喉科の日常診療において今でも時々遭遇する疾患である。その発病年齢分布は20歳代から30歳代にピークがあり，小児には稀とされている。今回われわれは稀と思われる2歳児と3歳児の扁桃周囲膿瘍例を経験したので報告し，乳幼児の扁桃周囲膿瘍の成立および治療法に関する若干の考察を行い，併せて自験の45例の成人の扁桃周囲膿瘍との比較検討を行った。

A 2-year-old girl and a 3-year-old boy presented high fever, dysphagia and trismus. They were successfully treated with incision drainage under general anesthesia and with antibiotics.

Peritonsillar abscess in infants is very rare, and we discussed about the causes and the treatment of infant peritonsillar abscess.
