We reported a case of the exploding head syndrome(EHS)with chronic tinnitus. EHS is a rare phenomenon characterized by sudden attacks of a loud noise. The attack usually arises at the onset of sleep without any symptoms. Though EHS has been categorized in parasomnia, it lacks of physical findings by electroencephalography or polysomnography. Antiepileptic agents or calcium antagonists have been used to relief of EHS attack. In our case, clonazepam, which is an antiepileptic agent, was effective to reduce the symptom of EHS.
