喉頭浮腫を合併したムンプスの1例

Mumps with laryngeal edema―Report of a case

はじめに

　流行性耳下腺炎（以下，ムンプスと略す）は耳下腺の有痛性腫脹と発熱を主体とする疾患である。日常診療でよく遭遇する疾患であり，感音難聴，無菌性髄膜炎，精巣炎などの合併症はよく知られている。しかし咽喉頭浮腫を合併した報告例は少なく，合併症として広く認識されてはいない。今回われわれは，喉頭浮腫を合併したムンプスの1例を経験したので，若干の文献的考察を含めて報告する。

　We reported a patient suffering from mumps with laryngeal edema. He complained of sore throat and a submandibular swelling following parotid swelling. He had been diagnosed as having Influenza by a local physician. Steroids administration was effective for laryngeal edema. In a few days, symptoms and edema were improved. No tracheotomy was performed. We considered that patients of mumps with submandibular swelling would have laryngopharyngeal edema.
