多剤併用中の原発開放隅角緑内障患者におけるラタノプロストによる薬剤数の減少効果

Reduction in the number of topical medications by latanoprost for primary open-angle glaucoma

　複数の点眼薬を使用中の原発開放隅角緑内障11例21眼にラタノプロスト点眼を行った。2剤を使用中の10眼をラタノプロスト単独点眼としたとき，眼圧が変更前20.2±1.4mmHg，変更後17.5±4.9mmHgとなり，有意に下降した（p＝0.04）。3剤を使用中の11眼をラタノプロストとβ遮断薬の2剤併用にしたとき，眼圧が変更前17.2±2.8mmHg，変更後17.2±4.0mmHgとなり，有意差がなかった。使用する点眼薬数を減らしても，それ以前と同等以上の眼圧下降が得られ，コンプライアンス向上に寄与したと評価される。

We used topical latanoprost in 21 eyes of 11 patients of primary open-angle glaucoma. They had been us-ing multiple topical medications before. Ten eyes had been treated by two medications. After switching to latanoprost only, the intraocular pressure (IOP) averaged 20.2±1.4mmHg before and 17.5±4.9mmHg after switching. The dif-ference was significant (p=0.04). Eleven eyes had been treated by three medications. After switching to latanoprost and beta-blocker, the IOP averaged 17.2±2.8mmHg before and 17.2±4.0mmHg after switching. There was no sig-nificant difference. The findings show that reduction in the number of topical medications by latanoprost may result in good IOP control contributing to improved compliance.
