マッサージ器による振動刺激で生じたと考えられた白内障の2症例

Two cases of cataract caused presumably by vibration of massage machine

　電動マッサージ器による振動刺激で生じたと考えられる白内障の2例を経験した。いずれも25歳，男性で，眼精疲労時に手持ちの電動マッサージ器を，1例は数年間，他の1例は2週間，眼部に直接当てて使用していた。白内障はいずれも両眼性で，前嚢下に限局性の混濁があった。両例ともアトピー性皮膚炎や外傷などはなく，マッサージ器による振動刺激が白内障の原因であったと推定した。

Two males, aged 25 years each, presented with bilateral cataract localized in the anterior subcapsular area. They were habitually been applying electric massage machine to their eyelids for asthenopia for several years and 2 weeks respectively. Atopic or traumatic cataract was ruled out in both cases. These cases illustrate that cataract may be induced following vibration to the eyelids by an electric massage machine.
