Epidemiology and treatment of Behçet's disease

（P-1-63）　1999年8月までの64か月間に受診したベーチェット病患者135例を検索した。男性72例，女性63例であり，45例（33.3％）が完全型，90例（66.7％）が不全型であった。不全型では43例（47.4％）に眼症状があった。29例（21.5％）が，神経，腸管，血管などの特殊病型であり，8例（27.6％）に眼症状があった。この頻度は，非特殊病型での75.5％よりも有意に低かった（p＜0.0001）。特殊病型29例中24例が副腎皮質ステロイド薬の内服を受けていた。眼症状は，この24例中6例（25.0％）にあり，ステロイド薬の日数，1日量，総量とは無関係であった。

We reviewed 135 cases of Behçet's disease seen during 64 months through August 1999. The series comprised 72 males and 63 females. There were 45 cases (33.3%) of complete type and 90 cases (66.7%) of incomplete type. Ocular manifestations were present in 43 cases (47.7%) of the 90 cases of incomplete type. There were 29 cases (21.5%) of special clinical types, including neural, enteric or vascular involvement. Ocular complications were present in 8 of these 29 cases (27.6%) and in 61 of the other 106 cases (75.5%) . The difference was significant (p ＜ 0.0001). Out of the 29 cases of special clinical types, 24 had been treated by systemic corticosteroid. Ocular complications were present in 6 of these 24 cases (25.0%) and were not related either with the duration, daily dosis or total dosis of corticosteroid.
