甲状腺眼症に対する経内皆部眼窩減圧術の手術成績

Outcome of transmedial-canthal decompression surgery for dysthyroid ophthalmopathy

　視神経障害および眼球突出の治療を目的とし，甲状腺眼症14例25眼に対し経内眥部眼窩減圧術を施行した。脳脊髄液漏出や複視などの重篤な合併症はなく，視神経症の著しい改善および十分な眼球突出度の改善を得ることができた。内皆部切開法による内壁，下壁減圧術は，その安全性，治療効果の持続性から早期改善が求められる視神経症や美容を目的とした眼球突出改善に効果的で，積極的に行ってよいと考えられた。

We surgically treated 25 eyes of 14 patients with dysthyroid optic neuropathy and exophthalmos. Orbital decompression was attempted by transmedial-canthal approach. All cases showed remarkable improve-ments in optic neuropathy and proptosis. There were no serious complications including diplopia or cerebrospinal fluid leakage. The findings show the safety and effectiveness of this surgical modality for dysthyroid optic neuropathy and/or proptosis.
