　過去18年間に東海大学病院眼科を受診した非感染性角膜潰瘍について，症例数，原因，予後につき調査した。総数は108眼で，感染性潰瘍189眼の約半数だった。原因別では，カタル性辺縁潰瘍20眼，兎眼18眼，春季カタル14眼，メタヘルペス9眼，睫毛内反8眼，シェーグレン症候群7眼，慢性関節リウマチ7眼，化学外傷5眼，モーレン潰瘍5眼，白内障術後4眼，放射線照射後2眼，神経麻痺性角膜炎2眼，自己免疫疾患2眼，外傷後1眼，原因不明4眼であった。27％の症例が矯正視力0.1以下となっており，感染性潰瘍の13％に比べて予後不良であることが判明した。

We reviewed 108 eyes with noninfectious corneal ulcer during the foregoing 18-year period. The causative lesions comprised marginal corneal ulcer 20 eyes, lagophthalmos 18 eyes, vernal conjunctivitis 14 eyes, metaherpetic keratitis 9 eyes, entropion 8 eyes, Sjogren's syndrome 7 eyes, rheumatoid arthritis 7 eyes, chemical unjury 5 eyes, Mooren's ulcer 5 eyes, cataract surgery 4 eyes, radiation 2 eyes, neurotrophic keratitis 2 eyes, autoimmune disease 2 eyes, eye trauma 1 eye and idiopathic 4 eyes. The final visual acuity was 0.1 or less in 27% of the cases and in 13% in another series of 189 eyes of infectious corneal ulcer seen during the same period. It appears that noninfectious corneal ulcer results in poorer visual outcome than infectious ones.
