Laser photocoagulation on age-related macular degeneration induced decrease in size and thickness of high reflective layer located at the level of retinal pigment epithelium (RPE) and choriocapillaris when evaluated by optical coherence tomography (OCT) . Increased reflectivity of the nerve fiber layer due to intraretinal hemorrhage was seen in branch retinal vein occlusion. Fresh laser spots showed focal high reflectivity at the level of the nerve fiber layer with increased backscattering. Two weeks later, the photocoagulated areas appeared as irregular thickening of highly reflective layer located at the level of RPE and choriocapillaris. The high reflectivity of the nerve fiber layer had disappeared. OCT failed to detect changes at the site of low-output laser photocogula-tion in central serous chorioretinopathy.
